⁶ Moses^(A) took half of the blood^(B) and put it in bowls, and the other half he splashed^(C) against the altar. ⁷ Then he took the Book of the Covenant^(D) and read it to the people. They responded, “We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”^(E)

⁸ Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people^(F) and said, “This is the blood of the covenant^(G) that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

¹⁸ Then he said to me, “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: These will be the regulations for sacrificing burnt offerings^(A) and splashing blood^(B) against the altar when it is built:

²⁰ You are to take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar^(A) and on the four corners of the upper ledge^(B) and all around the rim, and so purify the altar^(C) and make atonement for it.
